I was invited to a class at Village Angkor Krau (North of Angkor Wat) with some local teachers and Japanese Christian sisters. They go there once a week to teach music, art and health. Two senior teachers are now in Japan and taking trainings. The road to the village was quite tough: bumpy and narrow. I thought I need a helmet on the car. There are more than 70 children waiting for teachers. They sang songs that were translated from Japanese to Khmer. All students needed to wash their hands with soap and teachers taught how to keep healthy. During Origami lesson, they made a frog. It was quite difficult for small children.
シェムリアップで教育支援をしていらっしゃる方々とカンボジア人の先生方と一緒にクラウ村の訪問をしました。アンコールワット、バイヨンを通ってもっと北にある村の学校で、途中道はぼこぼこで、車の中にいてもヘルメットが必要と思うほどでした。そこで、週に１度、音楽、衛生教育、アート教室などをしていらっしゃるそうです。７０人−８０人ほどの生徒は、授業を楽しみに待っていたようでした。歌は、日本語の歌をカンボジア語に訳した歌「大きなクリの木の下で」「一郎さんの牧場」など楽しんで、振り付けも付けて歌っていました。衛生教室では、手を石けんを使って、ブラシで爪を清潔にしていました。先生によると、やはり村ではきれいな水が入らないので、各自生徒が自宅で続けることは難しいそうです。折り紙教室では、カエルをつくりました。小さい子どもにはちょっと難しかったようで、なんとなく違った形にできあがっていました。
