It was quite exciting day for scouts and me today. I was invited to Angkor high school in the morning for the ceremony. I did not know what the ceremony is, but it seems like a national event. There were more than 1,000 people such as VIP, monks, soldiers, students and more. About 130 scouts brass band members played music there. They put their uniforms really nicely and played very well. I am so proud of them.
There was an another ceremony at the Angkor Wat this afternoon. Selected scouts members played at the annual event to worship God in Angkor Wat. I am happy that they have more opportunities to play in public. I would like to support them as much as I can.
今日は、苦手な早起きをしてアンコール高校でのセレモニーに招待されたので行ってきました。私の語学力ではあまり良く理解できなかったのですが、ポルポト支配の時代が終わって平和が訪れたことを記念する日の国のイベントらしく、国のお偉いさん、お坊さん、ヘルメットかぶった兵隊さん、学生など、ざっと千人は参加してました。ブラスバンドメンバーも約１３０人がスカウトの制服をきちんときて、朝は約から集まりました。音楽もびしっと決まってとても上手でした。彼らを少しでも支援することが今の自分の喜びでもあります。午後は、選抜メンバーが、アンコールワット内で行われた、アンコールワットの神に祈りを捧げるイベントで演奏しました。もっと演奏する機会が増えればと思います。日本人向けのガイドブックの取材も入り、今後ますます彼らがこの街で欠かせない存在になっていくのではないかと期待しています。今日は一日、バンドの追っかけに充実した一日でした。
