I met Boravuth' sister, Visey and her husband. We had breakfast together and chat about their family. Visey and her brother is so similar. It was so nice to see Boravuth's family. They took me to a bus stop for ticket to Siem Reap.
Boravuthの妹Viseyと彼女の旦那様とお会いしました。彼女は弟のHassovanととても良く似ています。二人とも英語が上手でした。Boravuthの家族に会えてとても嬉しいです。食事のあとSiem Reap行きのバス停へチケットを買いに連れて行ってもらいました。
With Visey
After the meeting with Visey, I visited a bookstore and toyshop to attend Origami workshop. Japanese teacher Miho san is teaching origami twice a month. She is also coordinating nursing schools in Phnom Penh. Her origami ornaments are sold at the bookstore.
折り紙教室に参加するために、王宮近くの本屋さんへ。日本語の先生のMihoさんは、そちらの本屋さんで１ヶ月に２回お教室を開いています。子ども達はとても喜んで、鶴やお星様など作って、カードに貼っていました。
I also met my old friend from my university in Philly. He graduated much earlier than me and went to graduate school in Australia. He just came back from there. I reconnected with him through my friend in NY. Such a small world.
フィラデルフィアの大学で出会ったカンボジア人の友達にも再会しました。彼はアメリカの大学卒業後、オーストラリアの大学院へ行っていたそうです。ニューヨークの友達に彼の連絡先をもらい、こうしてまた再会できてとても不思議な感じでした。
I also met Khmer friend, Sophea who I met in Siem Reap. He was a tuk tuk driver and now he is working for Japanese NGO called Cambodian Children Support Network. He introduced his Japanese director who lives in Thailand. His NGO supports orphanage center. The director has experienced living in Cambodia.
シェムリアップでドライバーをしていたカンボジア人の友達Sopheaと会いました。今は日本人が始めたNGOで通訳兼スタッフとして仕事し始めたようです。裕次郎というあだ名もつけてもらって、ディレクターの方とも仲良くやっていました。日本人のディレクターの方は、カンボジア、タイなのでのビジネス、NGOの経験が豊富で、貴重なお話をたくさん伺いました。

I visited Cambodian NGO and met director Mr. Kim who is a friend of my friend in Philadelphia. Mr. Kim and his assistant welcomed me to their office/house. His son was so polite and speaks English very well. We talked more than 5 hours about their work and my interests. I was really impressed his dedication for Cambodian people.
フィラデルフィアのカンボジア人友達に紹介されたNGOディレクター Mr. Kim Yさんと彼のアシスタントの方とお会いしました。始めて１年ぐらいらしいのですが、ほとんど無給／無休で活動しているそうです。カンボジア人の良いところ、悪いところ、これから必要なところなどカンボジア人の視点からのお話をたくさん伺いました。５時間も熱く語ってしまいました。
